It’s so important that people are able to achieve a break from their caring role and have something nice to look forward to and we’d all agree that this is more important than ever at the moment. Essex Carers Support – Time 4 You project is currently running in across Essex and focuses on helping Carers to achieve a truly personalised one-off break that has a real and genuine impact on their sense of well being.

One off Time 4 You grants of up to £100 enable Carers to do something of their own choosing, aligned to their individual interests, hobbies and aspirations. Carers are asked to share with us the positive impact that their Time 4 You break has had on their well being.

Time 4 You breaks focus on a break from the pressures of the caring role and do not always have to mean a break from the person you care for. Lots of Time 4 You breaks are taken together so that people have something to look forward to and talk about afterwards with the person they care for.

Current restrictions and closures can mean it’s difficult to achieve some kinds of breaks but we’d encourage you to get your thinking caps on! Ask yourself, what could I do that would be a lovely break from my caring role and that I can achieve as we come out of lockdown?

These are just examples… the choice is yours; Time 4 You, are very open to new ideas. The more creative and effective the better!

No forms, no fuss;  all Essex Carers Support ask in return is that you have a couple of conversations with them, one before your Time 4 You break and another afterwards so that they can talk to you about your wellbeing and the difference the break makes to you.
