Ability B4 Disability

AB4D is a project funded by Essex County Council and delivered by SUMMIT and BATIAS across Essex. This project provides a platform for people with Learning Disabilities and or Autism and their families to ensure their voice and views are heard through participation, co-production and collaboration.

What is Ability B4 Disability

AB4D is an Essex wide service delivered by SUMMIT and BATIAS in partnership with Essex County Council (ECC).
The aim of this service is to provide a flexible platform where people can be empowered to have a voice in their local community, discuss issues that are important to them and work together to find solutions.

AB4D is for adults with an experience of disability their families and carers.

AB4D is a registered trade mark of Tendring Mental Health Support


Meetings and events take place across Essex, reaching out to areas that have historically been under represented. To find out where AB4D meet in your area contact:

South Essex: Basildon, Brentwood, Castle Point, Rochford.

with your peers to resolve local issues.

professionals and Essex County Council
sharing your experiences, helping to build
a better future for people with an experience of Learning Disability.

We have a laugh!

There is no charge for attending these groups and events and all resources will be provided by AB4D.

Where do your views go?

Your views are passed to the Healthwatch Essex; Collaboration in Action Forum.

The forum is made up of people with an experience of disability, councillors and staff from Essex County Council.

Your views help shape local services in Essex.
