AUTISM AWARENESS

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people. It also affects how they make sense of the world around them. Autism is recognised as a Disability under The Equality Act 2010 and The Autism Act 2009.

ADVOCACY AND NAGIVATION

We provide support throughout the assessment process to ensure the individual is able to understand what will take place and to speak up for them if there are any issues.

Once the person has been diagnosed, we provide advocacy support to enable them to improve their quality of life.

This might be support to access services such as social care, benefits advisors and support for reasonable adjustments in the workplace. We also provide information about Autism and will help people to identify goals and how these can be achieved. We will attend meetings with them and help them to have their voice heard so they can live the life they choose.

HOW TO ACCESS THIS SERVICE
