How to access the Peer Support Worker service.
This service is commissioned by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) as part of the NHS mental health services in North East Essex. Referrals can only be made by a member of the Primary Care Mental Health Team, so it isn’t possible to self-refer at this time. If you think our Peer Support Workers could help you, please speak to your Primary Care Mental Health Team member of staff for more information.

Peer Support WORKER Service

Our Peer Support Workers use their lived experience to offer understanding, encouragement, and practical support. As part of the primary care mental health services in Colchester and Tendring, they provide formalised peer support through one-to-one and group settings, helping people to set personal goals, build confidence to engage in community activities and social opportunities, and take an active role in their care. By building relationships based on mutuality and shared experience, our Peer Support Workers foster hope that recovery is possible, promote choice and self-empowerment, and support the people they are working with to regain control over their lives and move forward on their own recovery journey.
