AB4D Collaborate Essex
Ability B4 Disability
Do you want to share your voice?

AB4D is an Essex wide service delivered by SUMMIT in partnership with Essex County Council (ECC).

The aim of this service is to provide a flexible platform where you feel empowered to have a voice in your local community. We discuss issues that are important to you and work together to find solutions.
AB4D is for adults with an experience of disability, their families and carers.

Your views are passed to the Healthwatch Essex; Collaborate Essex Disability and Carers Forum. The forum is made up of people with an experience of disability, councillors and staff from Essex County Council.

Your views help shape local services in Essex.

Inclusion Advocacy
Do you need support from our Inclusion Advocacy Service?
Our Inclusion Advocate can help you to begin your journey towards meaningful employment. The Inclusion Advocate will identify any obstacles or challenges that you may be facing and work with you to develop and reach realistic goals towards employability.

An Advocate will:
-
Listen to you
-
Ensure you are receiving the same opportunities as non-autistic people. This includes employment, health services or education
-
Help you to improve key relationships through a better understanding of Autism
-
Look at issues with you realistically, providing non judgemental support
-
Help you access information which will support you to make your own decisions
-
Support you to look at any entitlements you may be eligible to receive
-
Make challenges on your behalf if you feel you have been unfairly treated
The Inclusion Advocate will act as a go-between for you and other agencies to help you identify any obstacles or challenges you may face to inclusion.

This service is only available to Clacton on Sea residents.
